Silence, Stillness & Peace

Peace of mind starts with a spirit of peace.

Nominated for a 2008 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work - Poetry.

By focusing on the things you can control you can have inner peace in any economy. Silence and stillness allows us to connect with ourselves, our higher power and nature. It provides the opportunity for peace to develop. This is how the physical and spiritual energy for this collection was found.

From Slide Show

Sky melts into land,
water mixes with sand,
graceful spirits transform man,
easing back the cover of darkness.

It is where we find out and stay in touch with who we are.

From Wanna Wannabe

I wanna be unlearnable, elevated
A little closer to myself
Trusting, understanding
What I should become.
I don’t wanna be appreciated
Just grateful
Not patient or content
Simply still, sometimes.

It is the state of being of the Greatest Being.

From Only You Know

You have learned my ways; yet, I have a ways to go.
If only I could learn to be still and listen,
as you whisper the sweetest language,
like winds and waves singing in my ear.
Your breath brings change to my stallionesque longing,
causing me to run full speed, effortlessly,
breaking the unsound barriers between us.

“Thank you for the beautiful book. It gives me peace. God bless you and continue to be a blessing to others.” —Chinta Strausberg, Host of The Strausberg Report
